Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve the surface wettability of a hydrophobic material at a low cost, without varying the composition of the material nor lowering the productivity, by roughening the surface of the material and reducing the contact angle of the surface e.g. by ultraviolet treatment or ozone treatment. CONSTITUTION:The surface of a plastic material such as polypropylene is roughened e.g. by blasting hard particles and the contact angle of the surface is lowered e.g. by ultraviolet treatment or ozone treatment to improve the wettability of the surface.
