PURPOSE:To obtain a prophylactic and remedy for edwardsiella infections in fishes free from side-effects and resistant microorganisms without anxiety of adverse effects on human bodies by the residue, by using specific herbs. CONSTITUTION:One or more herb selected from the group consisting of GOBAISHI (Galla Rhoise), CHIYU (Santuisorbae radix), YOUBAIHI (Myricae cortex), SHAKUYAKU (Paenoniae radix), KIN-OUSHI (Rosae laevigate fructus) are extracted with an organic solvent, a mixture thereof with water or water to obtain essence. The bulk or essence is directly given to fishes or mixed with feed or prepared into drugs. The dose is 0.001mg-100g/kg body weight/day, based on the bilk weight. It can be applied to eels, gray mullets, crimson sea breams, tilapias, flat fishes and others.
