る。

ントコアがヘツドケース内に設置され、コア周囲

ス内はフロントコアの前部表面を除いて樹脂等で
密閉し外気の湿度などの影響を受けないようにし
ている。この場合、ケースの材質をセラミツクで
構成すれば、温度および湿度によるケース体積の
膨潤を防止でき製品の信頼性が向上する。第1図
はセラミツクケースを用いた磁気ヘツドを、その
製造途中の状態で示した側面図である。この例は
3本足のフロントコアを用いて2つのギヤツプを
形成した消去ヘツドの製造例である。セラミツク
ケース2の一方の側部4に凹部10を形成し、ヘ
ツド前面を良好な摺動面にするために、セラミツ
クケース2の前面3を閉塞して形成しておき、こ
の凹部空間にフロントコア1を収納し、ケース2
の前部からフロントコア1とともに破線5の位置
まで研磨する。研磨後のフロントコア1のヘツド
前面からの長さaを定めるためにフロントコア1
の位置決めが必要であり、従来はフロントコア1
の前端1aをケース前部の閉塞した内壁2aに当
接させ、この面6を基準にして破線5で示す所定
位置まで研磨する。この位置がヘツド前面とな
る。フロントコア1の後端1bとケース後部内壁
との間のA部およびコア側部とケース間のB部は
コア組込後エポキシ樹脂等でモールドして固定し
ておく。この場合、組付作業性の点からコア後端
のA部の間隔を大きくとつているため、製品の信
頼性試験、特に高温高湿試験を行なうとA部の樹
脂が吸湿膨潤して体積が増加し、その結果フロン
トコアを矢印C方向へ押出す力が生じ、せつかく
研磨したヘツド前面からフロントコアの前端が突
出する傾向になる。試験時以外にもモールド樹脂
の種類によつては磁気ヘツドの長期使用によりコ
ア後部の樹脂が温度、湿度等の影響で膨潤し、せ
つかく変形のないセラミツクケースを使用しても
ヘツド前面の平坦度が徐々に悪化し、磁気テープ
にキズ付を起す危険がある。

は、ヘツド前面と反対側の凹部内壁に突壁7が形
成され、第2図の如くこの突壁7の先端面にフロ
ントコア1の後端1bが当接するように該コアが
設置される。この状態でフロントコア1の前端1
aはケース前部の閉塞部分即ち前部の凹部内壁2
aに対してある程度の間隙部A′を有する。フロ
ントコア1をこの状態になるようにケース側部の
凹部10に挿入し、コア側部のB部および前記コ
ア先端1aのA′部の間をエポキシ樹脂で固定す
る。この場合フロントコア後端部1bとケース凹
部10の後部突壁7の先端面との間は密着してい
るので、この間には樹脂は介在しない。この突壁
面を基準面6′としてフロントコア1が所定の長
さaになる位置(破線位置)5′までケース前面
3およびフロントコア前端1aを研磨する。フロ
ントコア1は高温高湿試験あるいは実際の使用に
おいても樹脂の膨潤による前方へのとび出しが起
らず、ヘツド前面の研磨面が良好に保たれ、セラ
ミツクケースの無膨潤性とあいまつて信頼性の高
い磁気ヘツドが得られる。
