Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve operability and sealing performance by burying a conductive heating wire and a conductive fiber into a fitting portion of a pair of synthetic resin pipes or the like, heating and thus melting the heating wire and the conductive fiber to carry out connection. CONSTITUTION: End portions 15a, 16a of pipes 15, 16 made of a thermally plastic synthetic resin are fit to end portions 17a, 17b of a joint body 17. In the joint body 17, a conductive heating wire 18 such as a nichrome wire is buried in a synthetic resin material with carbon fiber dispersed therein. When a power supply 21 is connected to the heating wire 18, a current flows through the heating wire 18 and the carbon fiber to generate Joule heat which softens and melts the synthetic resin material that forms the joint body 17 and the end portions 15a, 16a of the pipes 15, 16.
