Abstract

PURPOSE: To improve operability and sealing performance by providing a conductive fiber between fitting and contacting faces of a pair of synthetic resin pipes or the like, heating and thus melting the conductive fiber by an electric power to carry out connection. CONSTITUTION: A carbon fiber layer 18 is provided between the outer peripheral faces, i.e., the contact faces, of end portions 15a, 16a of pipes 15, 16 made of a polyolefine-based thermally plastic synthetic resin and the inner peripheral faces, i.e., the contact faces, of end portions 17a, 17b of a joint body 17 made of the same material. An electric power is applied to the carbon fiber layer 18 to generate Joule heat which softens and melts the inner peripheral faces of the end portions 17a, 17b and at least the outer peripheral faces of the end portions 15a, 16b, thus the synthetic resin of these parts penetrates into the carbon fiber layer 18.
