Abstract

PURPOSE:To miniaturize, to make lightweight and to make low cost by making an invertor device to drive an AC motor so as power running and regenerative braking can be performed and providing a feeding path and a service interruption detector. CONSTITUTION:An invertor device 20 to drive an AC motor 1 levitates and rotates a magnetic levitation rotary machine by supplying power, which was supplied from the outside power source 9, to the AC motor 1 from an invertor section 4 and to a magnetic bearing 2 from a magnetic bearing driving gear 5 through a rectifier 6 and a DC bus bar 5 in normal operation. And in case of power failure, a regenerative braking is applied to the inside of the invertor device 20 by a signal of the service interruption detector 10, and the AC motor 1 is decelerated. During this period, power is supplied to a DC bus bar 11 by regeneration from the AC motor 1, the magnetic bearing driving gear 5 is operated by this power to keep a rotor 3 levitated.
