Abstract
PURPOSE: To absorb the change of a load pattern or message traffic by establishing a valid time interval in a pipe cycle, and establishing the valid time interval without any interference with a message transmitted from another node through a media. CONSTITUTION: Each data pipe adapter 14, 16, 18, and 20 is provided with a facility for operating communication between its own I/O channel, mutual communication with all the other data pipe adapters connected with a data pipe system, and therefore the mutual communication with all the other I/O channels connected with each data pipe adapter. The function of the data pipe adapter includes the multiplexing of the I/O channel inputs, buffer operation, synchronization of the transmission data of a transmission protocol, reception of data transmitted from another adapter, decision of the route of a message, and demultiplexing of the I/O channel outputs. Thus, the change of a load pattern or message traffic can be absorbed.
