Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of a defective product by a method wherein the stepping formed on the surface of a sheet block is optically detected, and a cutting position is determined. CONSTITUTION:A laminated body is formed by laminating the prescribed number of ceramic green sheets 2, on the surface of which the electrode 1 of the prescribed pattern is coated on the surface, and a sheet block 2a is formed by adding press pressure on said laminated body. By the application of this pressure, a stepping 11 is formed on the surface of the block 2a simultaneously. Then, the position of the adjacent stepping 11 is detected by an image sensor 12, the position of a cut line 13 is determined based on the detected position, and a raw chip 3 is cut out by cutting the block 2a along the line 13. An external electrode is applied to both led-out end faces of the electrode 1 after raw chip 3 has been fired, and a laminated capacitor is obtained by baking said external electrode.
