Abstract

PURPOSE:To perform reading or recording operation with high accuracy by comparing an optical signal obtained by scanning a light beam along a grid with the low frequency component signal of the optical signal and obtaining a pulse signal. CONSTITUTION:The optical signal guided to a photodetector sensor 18 is converted into a grid signal V as an electric signal and then supplied to a low-pass filter circuit 40, which extracts the low frequency component signal from the grid signal V and outputs it to an amplifier 38. The amplifier 38 amplifies the low frequency component signal to a specific level and supplies it to a comparator 34 as a threshold signal beta. The grid signal V has shading characteristics due to variation in the optical path length of laser light L2 for synchronization and the threshold value signal beta obtained through the low-pass filter 40 and amplifier 38 also has shading characteristics corresponding to the grid signal V. The comparator 34, therefore, cancels the shading charac teristics of the grid signal V by the shading characteristics of the threshold value beta to outputs the stable, accurate pule signal.
