CONSTITUTION:When a retrieval instruction is received from a control part 2 by a retrieval control part 3, a words and phrases analyzing part 4 is activated. Then, the words and phrases analyzing part 4 activates a form element analyzing part 7 and the grammatical analysis of designated words and phrases is executed by using an independent word dictionary 8 and an adjunctive word dictionary 9. A retrieving part 5 executes a retrieval processing with the respective words and phrases to include all conjugations obtained by the grammatical analysis as a subject and when the words and phrases to be pattern-matched are detected, the form element analyzing part 6 and the grammatical analyzing part 7 are activated, and the grammatical analysis is executed with the character string of a prescribed range to include the words and phrases as the subject. Thus, the retrieval of the words and phrases, different in conjugation, can be attained, and the document editing work can be efficiently and smoothly executed.
