Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve weathering resistance in a long period of time, by a method wherein the specified amount of electron beams is projected against a steel sheet from the side of a resin surface under an oxygen atmosphere after the polyorefin resin is laminated on the steel sheet, then the resin is heated during projecting or after projection. CONSTITUTION:A polyorefin resin is laminated on a steel sheet, thereafter, electron beams of 3-30Mrad are projected on the steel sheet from the side of the resin surface under an atmosphere having the oxygen concentration of less than 500ppm while the resin is heated to a temperature not lower than the melting point of the resin -50 deg.C during projecting the electron beams or after projecting the same. A method wherein the resin is laminated directly on a heated steel sheet, or an adhesive is applied on the steel sheet previously and the resin is laminated after heating the steel sheet if necessary, may be employed to laminate the resin on the steel sheet. Polyethylene, polypropylene or the like alone or blended resin of two kinds or more, may be used. According to this constitution, the deterioration of the polyorefin resin due to ultraviolet rays may be restrained for a long period of time.
