Abstract
PURPOSE:To enhance the high-temp. resistance and activity of the title trans- alkylation catalyst by forming the catalyst contg. the modified saponite shown by a specified general formula and obtained by applying metal ion exchange to saponite and sintering the obtained material. CONSTITUTION:An aq. soln. containing nitrate, sulfate, phosphate or the like of on or more metal elements selected from groups IIa, IIIa, IIIb, and IVa elements and the group VIII iron-family elements having 0.1-1mol./l concn. is prepared. Saponite is dipped in the aq. metal ion soln., ion exchange is carried out for a specified time, and the ion-exchanged saponite is filtered out and sintered at 300-600 deg.C for about 0.5-30hr to obtain a trans-alkylation catalyst. The catalyst has a composition shown by formula I [M<n+> is a metal ion and (n) is an integer of 2-5].
