Abstract

PURPOSE:To detect a partial discharge without insulating a gas-insulated electric apparatus and without undergoing the effect of external electric noise, by providing a gas flow speed detecting element and a gas flow speed indicator. CONSTITUTION:A hermetically sealed terminal 10 is fitted airtightly to an earthed metal vessel 2A, and a hot-wire-type gas flow speed detecting element 11 detecting the flow speed of an insulating gas 1 in the metal vessel 2A is connected to one end of the terminal. Around the detecting element 11, an electric field easing shield 12 for preventing the concentration of an electric field by the detecting element 11 is provided. To the other end of the hermetically sealed terminal 10, a gas flow speed indicator 13 indicting the flow speed of the insulating gas 1 on the basis of an electric signal from the detecting element 11 is connected. Now, when a partial discharge is caused by a projection 7 or the like on the surface of a high-potential conductor 3, a flow speed is generated in the insulating gas 1 inside the metal vessel 2A. Then the flow speed of the gas is detected by the detecting element 11, the electric signal generated thereby is transmitted to the gas flow speed indicator 13, and the generation and the amplitude of the partial discharge in a gas-insulated electric apparatus are indicated therein.
