Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize waste heat and to save energy, by a method wherein, a stabilizing power source circuit and/or a voltage conversion circuit are connected between a thermoelectric conversion element and a cooling and heating mechanism, a heating value produced in a drier or a deodorizer is converted to electric power, and the converted electric energy is utilized as operational power. CONSTITUTION:A web 1 which has been subjected to printing through printing units of a printing press passes through a drier 2 via carrying rolls 6. Thereafter, the web 1 is passed through rolls 7 serving as cooling members and led by a guide roll 8, etc., to be discharged. By utilizing temperature differences at points where exhaust pipes 10, 13 and outside air leading tube 14 taking the air from the outside of the heating drier 2 or a deodorizer 3 as auxiliary facilities of the printing press, a water flow tube 15, or the like are closely disposed, thermoelectric conversion elements 9, 11, 12 are actuated to generate an electric current. The generated current is made available as electric power energy which actuates a cooling and heating mechanism of the printing press, etc.
