Abstract

PURPOSE: To obtain a bulky non-woven fabric without having fluffs at its ear part by heat-treating a web containing a heat fusible fiber consisting of plural thermoplastic polymers having specific difference in melting points at a temperature higher than its low melting point and lower than its high melting point, then directly compressing a part to be cut and cutting. CONSTITUTION: This method for producing a non-woven fabric is provided by heat-treating a web containing a heat fusible fiber consisting of 2 kinds of thermoplastic high molecular polymers having >=10 deg.C difference in melting points at a temperature higher than its low melting point and lower than its high melting point for adhering the heat fusible fibers to each other, compressing the vicinity of a part to be cut at a prescribed width in the winding direction of the non-woven fabric in a state that the heat fusible fiber has a adhering capacity and then cutting to obtain a highly bulky non-woven fabric suppressing fluffs at its ear part. As the heat fusible fibers, fellows olefinic fibers, polyester fibers, polyamide fibers, polyacrylonitrile fibers or composite fibers of optional combinations of the above having >=10 deg.C difference in melting points can be used.
