Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain an overheat preventing device for a motor which is simple and safe and reusable by elastically connecting a shape memory alloy stored to release the connection state and be separated at the preset temperature to part of an electric circuit and detecting the temperature of the outer hull surface of the motor. CONSTITUTION:A shape memory alloy 2 is stored in a case and fitted to the outer hull surface of a motor to detect the temperature. A shape 2' to release the connection state and separate at the abnormal temperature is stored in advance in the shape memory alloy 2, it is connected in the linear state 2a utilizing its elasticity at the ordinary usage temperature, and the connection is released to cut off an electric circuit when the temperature of the motor becomes abnormal. Safety is thereby secured, there is no danger that the connection is resumed after the fixed time and the current flows again, the shape memory alloy can be reconnected and reused after the abnormal portion of the motor is repaired.
