Abstract
PURPOSE:To execute a data access at a high speed by setting a first area and a second area by dividing plural fixed-length recording units, recording block data in the fixed-length recording unit in the first area, and recording the positional information of a file mark in the unit in the second area. CONSTITUTION:In case of recording block data and file mark data in sectors that are the recording unit of a recording medium in an optical disk device, the recording area on the medium is preliminarily divided into the file mark area 1 which is an area where the positional information of a file mark is recorded and the block data area 2 where block data is recorded. Since the positional relation between the position where block data exists and the position where a file mark exists can be defined, the data and the mark can be identified from each other in recording and reproduction. Accordingly, data can be accessed at a high speed.
