Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the quantity of CO when turning down the quantity of combustion and to prevent extraordinary flaming-up from occurring even when the mode of combustion is abruptly changed from low combustion to high combustion by increasing the opening ratio of air holes of an inner flame cylinder provided in opposite to the uppermost part of a flow control cylinder and reducing the quantity of CO when the quantity of combustion is turned down. CONSTITUTION:In a case where the height of exposing a wick 1 is lowered to reduce the quantity of combustion, air 34 rising up along an air inlet path 23 is attracted to air holes 23 and its quantity becomes large, because an inner cylinder 6 opposing the uppermost part of a flow control cylinder 21 is provided with air holes having a high opening degree. A part of the air 34 produces a flow 38 flowing downward at the upper end of a upper flow control region 31 to suppress an unburnt gas 36 so as to prevent the same from leaking upward of the combustion region. Therefore, deterioration of a waste gas characteristic (CO/CO2) can be prevented. Further, when the wick exposure height is rapidly increased, the quantity of evaporating the wick 1 increases rapidly, an excessive flaming up is produced at the upper end of a combustion chamber 8 at the upper part of the burner. However, since air can be supplied to the flame through the air holes 33 having a high opening ratio of the inner flame cylinder 6, it becomes possible to suppress excessive flaming up.
