Abstract
PURPOSE:To improve the flow characteristics of pressure oil by, in a mechanism where pressure oil flow is controlled by controlling a space between long grooves which are formed on the inner periphery of a cylindrical casing and the periphery of a cylindrical valve body respectively and extend in an axial direction, forming a fixed notch at an edge of a side wall of the long groove on the valve body. CONSTITUTION:A hydraulic control valve in a power steering device has a cylindrical valve body 2 rotatably fitted in a cylindrical casing 1, and plural long grooves 5, 6 extending in an axial direction respectively are formed on the inner periphery of the casing 1 and the periphery of the valve body 2. Steering force functions to cause torsion in a torsion bar 4 between input and output shafts. The casing 1 and the valve body 2 are thereby relatively moved in a peripheral direction to make a hydraulic cylinder S generate auxiliary steering force. In this case, an edge between the periphery of the valve body 2 and a side wall of the long groove 6 is formed with a notch composed of the first part 8 which intersects the side wall of the long groove 6 at an angle of alpha and has an arc with a radius of R protruding toward the axial center of the valve body 2 and the second part 9 which intersects the side wall of the long groove 6 at an angle beta (<alpha) and has the same shaped arc as that of the first part 8.
