Abstract

PURPOSE:To utilize sensible heat of high temperature gas passing through an inner tube by absorbing the sensible heat of high temperature gas passed through a catalyst layer into a heat pipe endothermic section, transferring said heat to a heat pipe dissipation section and dissipating the same on the raw material gas introducing side of the catalyst layer through the exothermic section. CONSTITUTION:Raw material gas introduced into an outer tube 2 passes through a cyclic catalyst layer 7 filled with catalysts 3 in the outer tube 2. Also, a plurality of hollow channels 13 constituted of a first tube 11 and a second tube 12 and stretched in the longitudinal direction between the tube 11 and the tube 12 are formed, and also an annular heat pipe 10 enclosing operating liquid 14 (example: cesium) therein is installed in said hollow channels 13 in the inner peripheral side of the catalyst layer 7, while an endothermic section 10 is disposed in a gas flow passed the catalyst layer 7 and an exothermic section 10b is provided on the raw material gas introducing side of the catalyst layer 7. As a result, sensible heat of high temperature gas passed through the catalyst layer is not thrown away uselessly, but can be utilized effectively.
