Abstract

PURPOSE:To separate malodor molecules efficiently from gases to be treated, by providing a nozzle for spraying cooling water in a cooling pipe provided in a vessel so that fine water droplets are sprayed, causing them to collide against malodor molecules contained in the gas to be treated. CONSTITUTION:Gases to be treated are fed into a vessel 1 through cyclones 4 by the ejection effect of a feed fan 5. Thereafter the gases fed into the vessel 1 are caused to flow into a plurality of cooling pipes 6 so that the gases flow downwardly along spiral vanes 13 within each cooling pipe 6 by sucking force of an exhaust fan 11. While the gases are flowing down, cooling water in a state of fine droplets are sprayed from nozzles 15 toward the gases so as to collide against said gases so that said droplets combine with the malodor molecules in said gases to increase the weight of the molecules. As a result, the effect of centrifugal forces, said molecules are forced to attach to the inner surfaces of the cooling pipes 6, causing said molecules to fall down freely along said surfaces to be retained in a liquid collecting box 9, from which said molecules are discharged through a pipe 27. The gases which have been deodorized in this manner are discharged by the fan 11.
