Abstract

PURPOSE: To form a pressure reduced thermal insulation pack for a refrigerator or the like into a desired size by a method wherein filling materials having a plurality of rigid open cell foam with engagement structures at their connected surfaces are arranged in a side-by-side relation and stored in a container together with a gas gettering agent. CONSTITUTION: A thermal insulation pack 5 used as a thermal insulating material of thermal insulating box such as a refrigerator or the like is formed such that filling materials 3a, 3b such as open cell foamed rigid urethane foam or the like are connected by engagement structures and stored in a container 2 formed by a laminate film of metal-plastic or the like together with a gettering agent 4 for keeping a degree of inner vacuum and its pressure is reduced. The filling materials 3a, 3b may foam the thermal insulation pack 5 having a desired size by making the connected surfaces into the engagement structures in a superior degree of flatness. In this way, a work required in a subsequent operation is facilitated and it is possible to improve a yield of the filling materials.
