Abstract

PURPOSE:To prevent the generation of defects in a casting by providing movable heating means and increasing the heating quantity of a casting mold at the time of casting and decreasing the heating quantity in the austenite structure state of the casting. CONSTITUTION:Slide rails 10 are provided on a casting mold fixing base 1 and heat insulating plates 11 as the heating means are disposed freely movably in a direction (c). The rapid cooling of members 9 is prevented by radiation heat when the fixing base 1 is moved on a conveyor 15 and pouring is executed after the members 9 are enclosed by the heat insulating plates 11. Furthermore, the heating quantity is decreased by parting the heat insulating plates 11 from the members 9 in at least the austenite structure state of the casting. Since the rapid cooling of the members 9 is prevented at the time of the pouring, the generation of the chill structure in the casting is obviated. Since the heating quantity decreases in the austenite structure state, the formation of the coarse crystal grains is prevented. The generation of the casting defects is, therefore, prevented.
