Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the title sinter which is a porous body excellent in hydrophilicity and antifungal property and can be used for absorption, evaporation, permeation and guiding of water, by molding a specified polyolefin powder by sintering and incorporating a polyalcohol fatty acid ester in the resulting molding. CONSTITUTION:A mixture of 100pts.wt. polyolefin powder (a) of an angle of repose of 27-45 deg., a mean particle diameter of 30-350mu, a content of particles of a particle diameter <=500mu of >=90wt.%, a bulk density of 0.30-0.55g/cc, an MI value <=0.7g/10min (provided that it is 0.3g/10min or below when the polyolefin powder is a polypropylene powder) with, optionally, 3.0pts.wt. inorganic filler (b) is molded by sintering and 0.05-2.0pts.wt. polyalcohol/fatty acid ester (c) of an HLB of 1.5-12, preferably, an antifungal polyalcohol/ isostearic acid ester, or alternatively a mixture of said mixture with 0.05-5pts. wt. component (c) is molded by sintering to obtain the title sinter which is a porous sinter molding comprising polyolefin particles and having an average void volume of 25-55vol.% and communicating voids of an average pore diameter of 5-150mu.
