Abstract

PURPOSE:To stabilize piezoelectric characteristic of a piezoelectric ceramic compsn. and to facilitate its production by incorporating each specified amt. of La2/3TiO2 and Pb(Sb1/3,Nb1/3,Mn1/3)O3 into a PbTiO3 type ceramic. CONSTITUTION:The title piezoelectric ceramic compsn. consists of 70.0-97.0mol.% PbTiO3, 2.0-29.0mol.% TiO2 and 1.0-5.0mol.% Pb(Sb1/3,Nb1/3, Mn1/3)O3. PbO, TiO2, La2O3, MnO2, Sb2O3, and Nb2O5 are weighed in specified proportions as starting materials in order to produce the compsn., and the weighed materials are mixed uniformly in a ball mill. Then, the mixture is calcined provisionally at about 750-900 deg.C for about 2hr, and formed lamp is crushed in a ball mill until the lump is crushed to a specified particle size. The product is mixed with a binder such as PVA, etc. and granulated to uniform particles. Obtd. powder is press-formed to a disc under about 1ton/cm<2> pressure, and calcined at about 1,100-1,200 deg.C for about 2hr to obtain thus a ceramic disc having 20mm diameter and 1mm thickness.
