Abstract
PURPOSE:To make it possible to convey a thin sheet material without exerting a bending stress due to separation and sticking dust or the like, by absorbing and separating one of two superposed thin sheet materials with the use of one of suckers when the other one sucker absorbs both of them, so that the thin sheet materials are fed one by one. CONSTITUTION:When a vacuum generator 18 in a hand mechanism 9 is operated, an upper sucker 10 absorbs under vacuum a thin sheet material 6 in a set section 7, and a vacuum pressure sensor confirms the absorption of the material 6 due to a decrease in vacuum pressure in a pipe line 17. Then, the elevation of a plate 11 and the horizontal operation of a column allow the sucker 10 absorbing the thin sheet material 6 to move to a separation stage where a lower sucker 9 stand by. When the sucker 10 is lowered to and stopped at a position vertically near to the sucker 19, a vacuum generator 25 is actuated to effect a vacuum suction force in the sucker 19. If two superposed thin sheet materials 6 are absorbed by the sucker 10, one of the two materials 6 is separated from the other when the sucker 10 is elevated after the initiation of absorption by the sucker 19, and accordingly, the sucker 10 is elevated while it absorbs only one sheet material 6.
