Abstract

PURPOSE: To control the escape time of a pace maker as the function of the change of the systolic output of one time by obtaining modulation carrier waves or current signals proportional to the systolic output of one time of the heart and supplying the current signals to the timing circuit of the heart pace maker. CONSTITUTION: The output of an oscillation circuit 10 is connected through a constant current source 11 to first and second electrodes 12 and 13 inside a ventricle and the electrodes are arranged on a lead wire connected to the output terminal of the constant current source 11. A pulse frequency from the oscillation circuit is considerably higher than a heart rate and is generally set to the range of 500Hz-5000HZ. The inverted input terminal of a differential amplifier 14 is connected through a conductor to the lead wire to the electrode 12. After carrier waves are removed by a low-pass filter 18, the output of a half-wave rectifier circuit is inputted through a signal processing circuit 19 to a voltage/current conversion circuit 20 as envelope signals. The output of the circuit 20 can be connected to the timing circuit part of a plant type pulse generator 21. Then, the output of the pulse generator 21 is connected through the lead wire to a stimulation electrode 22 planted to the heart.
