Abstract

PURPOSE:To eliminate an operation to reset an input state secured at an interrupted time point each time in case an editing part whose input and editing operations are interrupted due to the changeover of the editing operations is started again with the changeover of the editing operations, by storing the information on the input state set at the time point when the editing job is interrupted by the switch of an editing part in according with this editing part. CONSTITUTION:When a job is switched to an editing mode of a document layout during editing of a pattern area, an input control part 51 judges that a pointed position is set outside a window of a pattern editing part under editing and delivers the input of this decision to a window control part 52. The part 52 judges that a window of a document editing part 561 is pointed from the position pointed by a mouse and based on a window control table. Then the part 52 interrupts temporarily the task using the so far highest level window, i.e., the pattern editing part and at the same time saves the display image of the highest level window into a display buffer. Furthermore the information on the input state set at the time point pointed by the mouse is saved into an input state information storing area 5229 of the WCB of the highest window. Then the overlapping order of the WCBs is updated and the input state information saved into the WCB is recovered.
