Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the tristimulus values and three-color density of a colored printed material at the same time, by forming a photometer part and a colorimeter part for the printed material as a unitary body by using a light splitting means. CONSTITUTION:Light from a printed material, which is lit with a light source, is condensed through a lens 1. The light is transmitted through an optical fiber 2. Thereafter, the light is split through six pieces of optical fibers 31-36. Three- color density R, G and B are obtained through three-color filters 44-46 having specified transmittances. Tristimulus values X, Y and Z are directly obtained by further using filters 41-43 having specific transmittance distributions without obtaining spectral distribution and spectral reflectance. Thus, the three-color density and the tristimulus values of the printed material can be measured at the same time.
