Abstract
PURPOSE:To shorten the entire car washing time by making possible the opening and closing of a door by loading the front part of a vehicle on a bogie capable of moving back and forth in a position away from a portal car washing machine, stating the movement of both the vehicle and the car washing machine so as to be brought close to each other after a starting switch is turned ON, and then performing the preparatory operation for washing. CONSTITUTION:Car washing is performed by mutually and relatively moving a bogie 6 capable of moving back and forth with the front part of a vehicle loaded on it and a portal car washing machine 2 similarly capable of moving back and forth. A car body 11 is loaded on the bogie 6 in a position away from the car washing machine 2 so that the car washing machine does not interfere with the opening and closing of a door 13 through the vehicle. Then, when a starting switch 2b is turned ON, a mutual access-movement of the bogie 6 and the car washing machine 2 starts, each washing brushes 3, 4 moves to each washing position, and the washing operations start after a sensor 14 detects the access of the bogie 6 and the car washing machine 2 to the wash- starting position. The entire washing time can be thus shortened.
