Abstract

PURPOSE:To enhance rubbing resistance and obtain favorable transfer performance, by incorporating a silicon compound in a first heat-softenable layer provided on a base, and incorporating substantially the entire amount of a coloring material in a second heat-softenable layer. CONSTITUTION:A first heat-softenable layer 11 comprising 1-5wt.% of a heat- fusible silicon compound and up to 15wt.% of a thermoplastic resin for preventing blocking of a transfer recording material in a heat-fusible substance such as carnauba wax is provided on a base 10 having heat resistance, dimensional stability and surface smoothness, and a second heat-softenable layer 12 comprising 5-30wt.% (entire amount) of a coloring material is provided thereon. With a bar code 24 transfer recorded by using a thermal transfer recording medium, the second heat-softenable layer 22 comprising the coloring material and the first heat-softenable layer 21 not containing any coloring material are adhered to a transfer recording material 23. Thus, rubbing resistance is enhanced, blocking resistance is not lowered, and favorable transfer performance can be obtained.
