Abstract

PURPOSE:To store error data in an image forming device, by providing a nonvolatile storage means, a storage controlling means for controlling the storage means to store the error data generated in the device, and printing controlling means for printing the data stored in the storage means by the storage controlling means. CONSTITUTION:When error data (inclusive of maintenance data) is detected, a CPU 22 in an engine driver PCB 17 so operates that a count in a storage part for the total number of prints in a nonvolatile memory 20, which is previously counted, the date and time of the occurrence of an error based on data supplied from a calendar IC 21 and the temperature and humidity at the time of the error are stored into the memory 20 together with the error data generated. When a user or the like desires to check the history of maintenance of the machine end the error status of the machine, a request for printing necessary data is sent to a controller PCB 18 from a host computer 19 or a display control part 26, upon which the PCB 18 fetches the necessary data from the memory 20, and prints the data.
