The CPU1 gives a reading instruction to a magnetic disk device 5 in which the information to be printed and delivered is stored. Furthermore, the CPU1 searches successively the control information stored in the device 5 in terms of all information to be printed and delivered. Thus the number of lines required for printing is decided. At the same time, the CPU1 designates a format showing the print style to a line printer 6. The number of sheets of printing paper used for the output of print is decided by the format and the count value of the line feed information contained in the control information stored in the device 5. The decided number of sheets is counted and displayed on a display device 7.
