Abstract
PURPOSE:To rapidly dissolve a sheet-shaped or solid polymeric material by the title dissolver by providing a cage body contg. a material to be dissolved and made free to rotate in a vessel filled with a solvent. CONSTITUTION:An org. solvent, for example, is injected into the vessel 10, the pellets or cuts of a polymeric material are charged in the cage body 22 having a meshy structure 28 of thin metallic wires, a motor 38 is driven to agitate the liq. in the vessel 10, and the liq. and polymeric material are strongly agitated. Since the rotor 22 is also rotated, the polymeric material collides with the mesh 28, the material surface is rubbed by the mesh 28, and the contact area of the material with the liq. is rapidly increased. As a result, the contact of the material with the solvent is promoted, the agitation and convection of the soln. are accelerated, hence the concn. in the vicinity of the material surface is reduced, and the material is rapidly dissolved.
