Abstract

PURPOSE:To regenerate an electrophotographic sensitive body having a protective layer on a selenium type inorganic photosensitive layer by specifying the average roughness and the square average roughness and the average peak distance of the surface of said photosensitive layer and polishing it with buff. CONSTITUTION:The electrophotographic sensitive body having a surface layer 1 on the selenium type photosensitive layer 2 is regenerated by polishing the surface of the layer 2 to the average roughness (Ra) to <=1.0mum, preferably, <=0.8mum, the square average roughness (RMS) to <=1.0mum, preferably, <=0.8mum, and the average peak distance (Sm) to >=200mum, preferably, >=300mum, first with coarse buff and second by finishing buff thus permitting the regenerated electrophotographic sensitive body to be not deteriorated by the buffing, and prevented from occurrence of black streaks or the like at the time of forming an image.
