Abstract

PURPOSE:To improve desilverability and to prevent the conversion of a dye into a leuco-body by processing a silver halide color photographic sensitive material with a bleach-fix bath contg. specified aminopolycarboxylic acid, bromide ions and iodide ions after color development. CONSTITUTION:A silver halide color photographic sensitive material is color- developed and processed with a bleach-fix bath contg. aminopolycarboxylic acid having >=300mol.wt. and 1X10<-2>-2mol./l bromide ions and/or 5X10<-4>-5X10<-2>mol./l iodide ions. In case of <1X10<-2>mol./l bromide ion concn., no bleach-fix accelerating effect is exhibited. The amt. of residual silver is not sufficiently reduced in case of <5X10<-4>mol./l iodide ion concn. and defective desilvering is caused in case of >5X10<-2>mol./l. Thus, in spite of rapid processing, desilverability is improved and the conversion of a dye into a leuco- body can be prevented.
