Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a high-resolution microscope which utilizes an ultraviolet ray, by forming a lens system as the optical path of the ultraviolet ray entirely by using quartz and providing an image processor. CONSTITUTION:A mercury vapor lamp 1 is used as a light source for sample irradiation to irradiate a sample preparation through a quartz lens 2, a surface reflecting mirror 3, and an quartz lens 4, and further objectives 6 and 7 and oculars 8 and 9 made of quartz are provided. Then a photoelectric surface 11 which is sensitive to an ultrasonic part is arranged at the observation part of the oculars 8 and 9 and an optical amplifier 12 which projects an image of a visible part on a fluorescent screen 13 after optical amplification is placed to perform waveform conversion from the ultraviolet-ray image to the visible light image. Consequently, an observation is made with high power and high resolution.
