Abstract

PURPOSE:To surely detect a welding point and to enable a stabilized line operation by marking a mark for detection by using a laser beam near the welding point of a strip and optically detecting this mark. CONSTITUTION:The laser beam from a laser beam oscillator 6 is subjected to a change-direction by mirror parts 8, 8', condensed by the condensing lens 9 inside a torch 9 and it is projected to near the welding point of a strip 1 to mark a mark 10. This mark 10 is detected by the optical means of the CCD camera 11, etc., installed at the inlet side of a shear and a process part. The detected welding point position is utilized as the tracking signal inside a line.
