Abstract

PURPOSE:To open and close automatically the lid of a plastic sample container obtained by integrally forming the lid which is small in size and resistant to fast centrifuging and can be tightly fitted by using a rotary mechanism which has a rotary shaft almost concentric with a rotary shaft for opening and closing the lid. CONSTITUTION:In a lid opening process, a member 11 which hooks the projection part 1c of the lid of the container 1 directed as prescribed is rotated by the gear 14 of a motor shaft as shown by an arrow associatively with the motion of gears 12a and 12b through fixed members 13a and 13b. The rotary shaft on its circular track is nearly aligned with the opening/closing shaft for the lid 1a, so the lid is easily opened and never contacts others. The motor stops after opening the lid sufficiently and the container is sent to a following process. In a lid closing process, a lid pressing-down member 17 closes the lid by rotating as shown by an arrow associatively with the motion of gears 19a and 19b through fixed members 20a and 20b. Even if there is variance in the way of opening the lid, the lid is easily closed by the same function as that of lid opening.
