Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain the (+)-isomer having excellent insecticidal ability in high purity and yield at a low cost, by reacting (+ or -)-trans-permethric acid with an optically active specific resolving agent to form the corresponding diastereomer salts and utilizing a difference in solubility thereof. CONSTITUTION:(+ or -)-trans-Permethric acid and optically active 1-(p-iso propylphenyl)ethylamine, 1-ethylbenzylamine or cis-N-benzyl-2-(hydroxymethyl) cyclohexylamine as a resolving agent in an amount of substantially preferably 0.8-1 equiv. based on the (+ or -)-trans-permethric acid are initially dissolved in a solvent, such as methanol, while being heated and then cooled to provide supersaturation. (+)-trans-Permethric acid.(-)-cis-N-benzyl-2-(hydroxymethyl) cyclohexylamine salt, etc., are preferably seeded to deposit and separate sparing ly soluble salts and afford the aimed compound.
