PURPOSE:To lower cost of the entire position detector and to simplify the configuration of a mobile station by inputting a position data and a direction distance data of a sign post sent from the mobile station to a controller of a base station side to decide the absolute position of the mobile station. CONSTITUTION:The location data of a sign post 1 sent therefrom is received by a sign post receiver 2, and sent to a signal transmission section 3. On the other hand, the direction distance data detected by the direction distance sensor 4 is sent directly to a signal transmission section 3 and sent to a radio equipment 5 of the mobile station A. The location data of the sign post 1 is stored in a memory 21 and the direction distance data is stored in a memory 22 respectively by a radio equipment 6 of a base station BO and a central processing unit 20 calculates the absolute position of the mobile station A and displays the result on a display device 24.
