Abstract

PURPOSE:To reduce the storing area of a memory for music selection, by storing a part of high-order information out of start time information at every music, moving a reproducing position so as to set a difference between corresponding first present time information at zero, and performing the music selection based on second present time information. CONSTITUTION:Out of the start time information, a part of high-order information, for example, minute information is read out from the read-in part of a disk 1, and is stored in the memory 17 at every music. And at the time of performing the music selection, the movement of the reproducing position is controlled so that the difference between the minute information of a first time information representing the present reproducing position recorded on the disk 1 as an absolute time and the minute information stored in the memory 17 can be set at zero. Afterwards, desired music is selected by moving the reproducing position based on a second time information representing the present reproducing position recorded on the disk 1 as a lapse time from the start position of each music. In such a way, it is possible to reduce the storing area of the memory 17 to store information for the music selection.
