Abstract

NEW MATERIAL:The polyamine dehydrogenase having the following properties. (A) Substrate is spermine, spermidine, N-acetylspermine or N-acetylspermidine; (B) optimum working pH is 7; (C) stable pH range is 5-8; (D) optimum working temperature range is 20-35 deg.C; (E) deactivation is observed by the heat-treatment at pH 7 and >=40 deg.C for 5min; (F) activity is severely inhibited by p- chloromercuric benzoate and o-phenanthroline; (G) molecular weight determined by gel-filtration is about 580,000. USE:Enzyme oxidizing a polyamine by dehydrogenation. PREPARATION:The objective enzyme can be separated from the cultured product of a bacterial strain belonging to Pseudomonas genus, especially Pseudomonas sp. UA-15 (FERM P-9304).
