Abstract

PURPOSE:To achieve continuous regenerating operation and to reduce the size of a voltage type inverter, by operating an inverter through PWM control considering rectification ripple and connecting a capacitor in parallel to AC side of a converter. CONSTITUTION:An inverter comprises a DC filter capacitor 3, an inverter 4, a converter 6, a rectifier circuit 8 employing light emission diodes, a photoreceptor 10 and a control circuit 11, and controls driving of an induction motor 5. A capacitor 7 is connected in parallel to AC side of the converter 6 comprising self-extinguishing elements. Since the capacitor 7 having small capacity and excellent frequency characteristic can be connected to AC side, capacitor at DC side can be reduced or eliminated. Furthermore, power can be recovered to a power source 1 and continuous regenerating operation can be achieved.
