Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain the titled elastomer having excellent heat-resistance and hydrolysis resistance without compounding a heat-stabilizer and suitable as electronic part, potting material, etc., by reacting a specific polyol with a polyisocyanate compound. CONSTITUTION:The objective elastomer is produced by reacting (A) a polyhydroxy-hydrocarbon polymer having an average number of hydroxyl groups of 1-8, a number-average molecular weight of 500-20,000 and an iodine value of <=100, fluid at normal temperature and produced e.g. by radically polymerizing a vinyl monomer and hydroxylating the terminal of the radical polymerization product with (B) an isocyanate compound selected from diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polymeric diphenylmethane diisocyanate and their derivatives preferably at an NCO/OH ratio of 0.7-1.5.
