PURPOSE:To increase special copy generating speed at the time of a three-colors full-color copy mode and to realize a high speed-copy without increasing remarkably a cost, by selecting a fundamental copy mode to execute the original reading scanning in plural times and a high speed-copy mode to execute once original reading scanning. CONSTITUTION:The plural numbers of image forming stations C, M, Y and BK are provided. It is possible to select a first mode to supply the plural chrominance signals generated during the same time to the plural image forming stations C, M, Y and BK with respectively different delay times and to form an image, and a second mode to have the higher copy generating speed than the first mode by once storing the plural numbers of the chrominance signals and successively supplying picture signal for plural pieces to the plural numbers of the image forming stations with mutually different phases. The physical memory elements of a memory means to be used in the first mode and a memory means to be used in the second mode are shared. Thus, a four-colors full- color mode and the three-colors full-color mode are attained and the color copying machine of a low cost is realized so that the special copy generating speed can be improved at the time of the three-colors full-color mode.
