Abstract

PURPOSE:To enable mounting concurrently a plurality of spacers by providing translucent holes at the predetermined positions of a thin board, inserting a spacer in each of said translucent holes and adsorbing a plurality of inserted spacers to an adsorption board for mounting onto the constitutional substrate of a panel. CONSTITUTION:There are preliminarily provided a thin board 1 thinner than a spacer 5 and having a plurality of translucent holes 2 opposing the mounting position of the spacer, a substrate 3 mounted with the thin board 1 and a sucking board 4 having gas permeability in a thickness-wise direction. A pertinent stocker, for example, is used and the spacer 5 preliminarily arranged in a width- wise W direction is inserted in the translucent hole 2 in turn. The spacer 5 inserted in each translucent hole 2 slightly projectes from the thin board 1. Then, when the sucking board 4 is overlaid on the thin board 1 and air is drawn from the top of the sucking board 4, each spacer 5 is adsorbed to the bottom thereof. When the sucking board 4 is overlaid on the constitutional substrate 6 of a plasma display panel and then the sucking board 4 is lifted with air draft interrupted, therefore, the spacer 5 is placed at the predetermined position on low-melting point glass 7 applied to the substrate 6.
