Abstract
PURPOSE:To easily separate and remove foreign matter by photodetecting an X-ray image of a raw fish tool by a photodetecting device by utilizing an electroluminescence phenomenon, converting its photodetection image plane into an electric signal and operating buckets of a bucket conveyor. CONSTITUTION:Raw fish shucked short-necked clams 14 fed from a supply hopper 16 are fed in the buckets 24 by a specific amount continuously and conveyed intermittently under an X-ray irradiating device 32. The raw fish short-necked clamps 14 in the buckets 24 are irradiated with X rays from the X-ray irradiating device 32 in synchronism with the intermittent conveyance cycles of the conveyor 18. The X-ray image of the shucked short-necked clams 14 is photodetected by the photodetecting device 36, whose electroluminescence panel 38 photodetects it with high sensitivity and high brightness. The photodetection signal is converted by a converting device 42 into the electric signal and the conveyor 24 for the shucked short-necked clams 14 containing foreign matter is rotated down like a keyboard through the operation of a support roller 50 according the electric signal, so that the foreign matter is easily stacked in a defective hopper 54 and separated.
