Abstract

PURPOSE:To obtain a transfer image which is high in density and clear without roughness by elevating smoothness of a surface, by a method wherein in a sheet to be thermally transferred having an image accepting layer which accepts dye to be transferred from a thermal transfer sheet when heated, the accepting layer is formed by a resin component having polyvinyl chloride as a main component. CONSTITUTION:An image accepting layer 1 is formed by using a resin component which has polyvinyl chloride as main component. In order to improve softness of the image accepting layer, 5-60wt.%, preferably 10-60wt.% of plasticizer may be added to the resin component which has polyvinyl chloride as main component. In the case where an image accepting layer is formed by adding above-mentioned plasticizer, the image accepting layer is abundant in cushion property and little in noise, and an image corresponding to image information may be transferred to be recorded in a good reproducibility. When used as an ordinary sheet to be transferred, since the image accepting layer 1 itself is transparent, in order to be able to see the transferred image naturally from the sheet to be thermally transferred itself, the sheet to be thermally transferred is constructed by providing a white coat layer 2 or a colored support material 3 on a rear face of the image receiving layer 1.
