Abstract
PURPOSE:To place a great amount of concrete under water by a method in which a chamber having a gate on its bottom side is set in water, concrete is poured through a tremie tube into the chamber, and the gate is opened while moving the chamber. CONSTITUTION:A chamber 1 having a gate 1d to be freely opened or closed is vertically set in water, and under the condition that the gate 1d is closed, concrete 2 is poured through a tremie tube 4 from a hopper 4b into the chamber 1 to pack its bottom with a fixed amount of concrete by replacing water. When a fixed amount of concrete 2 is packed, the gate 1d is opened while retracting the chamber 1 at a fixed speed and the concrete 2 is placed to the bottom under water. A great amount of concrete can thus be placed in a fixed thickness under water.
